Wondering what to do when the famous wind Bora blows on Pag? It is definitely an opportunity to get to know the flavors and aromas of the island better.
The first on that list is the world-famous Pag cheese. With that in mind, here we are with the children’s team touring the Gligora cheese factory. In front of the door we wear disposable coats, hats and socks. No one can recognize us anymore. We look like scientists and embark on an adventure through the corridors of the cheese factory.
The tour guide introduces us to the Gligora cheese factory and explains the whole process of cheese preparation, from milking sheep, transporting milk, processing milk to forming and drying cheese.
We admire all these types of cheese in the cheese mattress arranged on the shelves from top to ceiling, about 5 meters high. There are various types of cheese from the most famous Pag, goat cheese, cheese with aromatic herbs, olives and truffles. The cheeses are sold under the well-known names Kolan, Žigljen, Kozlar and Težački sir.
And while we look at all those cheeses like that, we are already in the tasting room with a view.
In front of us is a beautiful platter of cheese, prosciutto, jam and nuts. We enjoy all these indigenous flavors with wine and olive oil tastings. Finally, we can’t decide whether it was more interesting for us to visit the Gligora cheese factory or during the tastings. To confirm once again, we visit the mini shop of the Gligora cheese factory to once again taste and determine all these special flavors. https://gligora.com/obilazak-sirane-kusaonica/degustacija/vodeni-obilazak-sirane-proizvodnje-sira
